30 Day Writing Meme - Day 6
Jul. 17th, 2011 10:44 am6 – When you write, do you prefer writing male or female characters?
I don't really have a preference. There are stories where a male POV works, there are ones where a female POV works. There are few stories I've worked on that have exclusively one or the other gendered characters in them. Afanasiy is one of those that I've worked on that has solely male characters - and it really is a story of just two people, so that's not terribly much a surprise. (Said story is not yet posted, but will be. Eventually.)
I do tend to write more male characters than female, but I don't prefer them because of their gender, they just happened to be the character that suited the story. And when I do write female characters, they tend to be strong ones with a firm idea of what they want and how to get it.
