Title: You Won't Escape

Lindsey leaned against the back of his truck's cab, tilting his head to look up at the star-studded night sky, trying to ignore the whisper that he couldn't go home. That he'd bring Wolfram and Hart down on his family, on the friends that he'd left behind to go to LA and become a lawyer. He had nowhere else to go, after walking out and leaving his former employers.
Never former, you can't leave them, whispered the voice. You won't escape, no matter where you run.
"Shut up," he muttered, closing his eyes. He'd find a way to get away.

The dance was what she loved most about being the Slayer. The dance with death, laughing through every moment as she spun from one danger to another, always aware the next could bring an end to the dance. The whisper of steel was her only warning of the weapon swung at her exposed back, not enough time to turn. Agony burned along every nerve, and she laughed wetly, blood painting her lips.
