Post 1/2

I'll do a second post with the prompts from the other set. Prompted fic, posted on tumblr in the last couple of weeks, and now here.

"You're late."

"Better than never." Jango still thinks there are times when it would have been better to walk away from the offer the Jedi had made after the fiasco on Tatooine, but then there are days like this.

Obi-Wan grins at him, teeth bloodied - red, probably his own blood - and holds up his bound hands. "Just get me out of here before reinforcements have a chance to arrive."

"They'll have to get through the kids first." Jango crouches down so Obi-Wan can help with being hefted over Jango's shoulders, the easier to get the Jedi out quickly. They'll worry about injuries and the bindings and whatever else once they're back on the ship.

"Anakin and Boba?"

Jango grunts as he gets to his feet, hurrying as fast as he can out of the warren of tunnels he'd had to find Obi-Wan in. At least getting out should be easier, with the pathway marked now.

"And your student and your Master's student."

Obi-Wan lets out a pained laugh. "Where is Qui-Gon?"

"Last I saw him, sedated in that Temple of yours, with fractured ribs and a concussion." Jango ducks through a low spot in the tunnel, where he suspects it had caved in at one point and been dug out later. "Girl should have stayed with him, but she's a stubborn kid."

"You have no idea."

There's silence from Obi-Wan for the rest of the scramble out to where Jango had landed the ship, with Anakin giving them air support from the little fighter Amidala had given him after he'd helped free Naboo, and Boba perched in the gunner's pod on their little freighter.

"There are ground troops inbound, Master, sir." Kasta comes scampering from a rock formation she'd been perched on that gave her a clear view of the plains leading up to the compound Obi-Wan had been in. "They have heavy cannons."

"Good thing I have your Master, then, isn't it, kid?" Jango doesn't lower Obi-Wan until he's carried the Jedi inside, where Obi-Wan can use the walls to get up if he needs to. "Where's the other girl?"

"Here!" Miki scrambles up the ramp behind Kasta, hitting the controls to close it up. "This was easy."

"You can't call it easy until we're home, Miki."

Jango leaves the girls to get Obi-Wan untied while he gets the ship off the ground. Kasta has that much right, they can't call this an easy rescue until they get themselves back to Coruscant.

[tumblr.com profile] lynati - Star Wars, watching a planet explode.

Jedi Leia AU

"You can still save your people, Your Highness." Tarkin is watching Bail with his usual attempt at a reasonable smile. "Just tell us where to find your little rebellion, and this can all be forgotten."

"You're a poor liar, Tarkin." Bail would cross his arms over his chest if they hadn't bound his hands before bringing him here. "You want a better target for your little demonstration of your weapon? Turn it on that cesspit you call Imperial Center."

Vader's hand comes down on his shoulder, squeezing painfully tight.

"Your defiance will not serve Alderaan, Your Highness." Tarkin's smile at least is gone, and the pretense that he might spare Alderaan with it.

Bail clenches his teeth, focusing on the blue-and-green jewel that is his home, a deep ache in his chest that he can't do anything to save any of the people he'd sworn to serve. Even if he betrayed the Rebellion, allowed Tarkin to slaughter the men and women who wanted nothing more than to see the Empire fall, Bail holds no illusions that Tarkin will pick another target.

If he would have been willing to do that, they wouldn't be watching Alderaan right now.

Tarkin is silent for another long moment, giving Bail a chance to sell out the one chance the galaxy has to become more than the pawn of the Sith, before he turns to give the order to fire.

Bail refuses to close his eyes, knowing the last service he can give to those below is to watch them die, and then to find a way to get out of here and bring the Empire down.

[tumblr.com profile] theyoungwander - Teal'c, fire and lightning

Night Mirror AU

He is no longer the First Prime of Apophis, but he has not stopped being a leader and servant alike. This time he choses who to serve, and how far he is willing to go in that service, and he has no illusions about the god-hood of those he serves and serves with.

Watching from the vantage point the chapaa'ai on this planet has, Teal'c directs the battle below even as the first clouds of a storm stalk in on stabbing, flickering lightning. No rain, with the wet season for this place still months off, but heat-born and full of dust, threatening to ignite the dry grass the armies have pounded nearly to dust.

His commands are passed through the communicators built into the new helmets, the weapons and the training the soldiers carry doing their work to slaughter those who still cling to fallen false gods, and secure this planet for the alliance of Earth, the j'affa, Baal, and the tok'ra. They will bring all the galaxy to heel, and they will have peace.

[tumblr.com profile] norcumi - Anything with Boba Fett. And possibly young Skywalkers.

A Wealth of Shadows AU

"Why me?" Boba Fett isn't even sure he wants to know the answer to that question, but he's asked it, and if nothing else, the Sith are terribly honest when answering questions.

"Because you're not that little green troll, they know you, and you have a ship of your own." Anakin tucks the blankets of the bunk in close around the sleeping forms of the twins. "And Sidious doesn't think you're important enough to pay any attention to."

Boba thinks that Sidious, for all that he's a clever bastard, is something of an idiot. You pay attention to everyone surrounding your enemies, no matter how unimportant they might seem, or it gets you shot in the back. Or worse.

"We'll be back for them." Anakin brushes his flesh-and-blood fingers over the foreheads of his children, a soft smile on his face a moment that makes his eyes warm. It's still disconcerting how cold those golden eyes can be when the Sith are in the field. Boba really prefers it when they're at home, when he can watch them be sappy at each other while he fades into the background like a good bodyguard.

"You better be." Boba sighs, and shoos Anakin out of the cabin. If he's going to take off with the twins, the sooner he leaves, the better. And it might be worth it to change ships, just to make sure the Empire doesn't find them by tracing the Slave I. "I'm supposed to be their uncle or something, not a father-figure."

Anakin laughs, grinning at Boba a moment before he descends the ramp, and heads back for the palace the Sith call their own on Telos.

Letting out a quiet sigh, Boba turns back inside. Where to take the twins that they'll be safe?

[tumblr.com profile] hamelin-born - TTMK: "If they catch you they will kill you. But first they must catch you."

Jica is JCA-062, a clone of Stass Allie. Aiteen is JCU-018, a clone of Luminara Unduli.

Teeny Tiny Mandalorian Kenobis

Jica loves the feel of wind in her short curls when she runs, though the sun-baked heat of the streets is less enjoyable during the day than it is at night. Especially when she's being chased by something she can't even name, save that she doesn't want it to catch her. Not even the sort of darkness she learned at home, before everything went even worse, but something that feels sharp as claws.

She takes another corner in the maze of alleys with a quick twist of her ankle, sprinting for the relative safety she knows is close. Another few blocks, and she'll be able to dive into the underground tunnels, the warren of safety that no one has been able to figure out that isn't a native or a clone.

"If you want to kill me, you first have to catch me," she mutters to herself as she bolts through a low door, taking a precious few seconds to drop the bar across it before she scrambles through another door, and down through a dark hole that stinks of waste. It's the only disadvantage of getting into the tunnels this way, but she'd rather have to shower later than leave the others without her.

Here, she's even more familiar with the territory, and she takes a tangled route through tunnels that are small and damp and smelly, the best to keep her pursuer from coming after her.

Far outside the city, Jica pauses where there's a handful of towels and a small hand-pump for water, washing off the worst of the muck. The rest will have to wait until she can wash her clothes, too.

The rest of the journey she can take more slowly, letting her breathing settle and her heart stop racing before she taps out a careful pattern on what looks like a tunnel collapse, and waits patiently for the door to be opened.

"You smell like a pit, Jica." Aiteen wrinkles her nose at Jica's state, though she doesn't try to stop Jica as she takes a straight-line route toward the tunnel with the fresher and laundry. "I thought you were going for a food run."

"There's something in the city, Aiteen, and it's hunting. I think it's hunting people like us." Jica sheds her clothes, dropping them into the basin, and pumping water in to cover them once she's plugged up the bottom.

"Clones?" Aiteen frowns, her bright blue eyes holding Jica's gaze for a moment, full of worry. "Why would anyone be hunting clones?"

"Not clones, I don't think." Jica turns on the tap that comes down from the lake nearby, gravity doing what muscle can't for a shower, scrubbing at the dirt that a quick wash earlier couldn't get off. "Unless they're clones like us, with the Force." She pauses, ducking under the water to let it rinse through her hair. "If whoever it is catches us, they'll probably kill us."

"But first they have to catch us." Aiteen flashes a brilliant smile, and Jica returns it with a fierce one of her own. It had been the first thing they'd learned from the dreams once they escaped the flames and the ships and the white-armored soldiers. And it's been the most valuable, for them, and for all the others they've gathered, here and elsewhere.

"I think we need to move again. We should tell the others." Jica turns off the tap, grabbing a towel off the nearby shelf to scrub herself dry, then going to wash her clothes. No need to get her clean clothes wet and dirty washing these.

Aiteen nods. "Where?"

"I don't know. I'll figure it out once we're heading out of this system."

Another nod, and Aiteen heads for their com-system, to call the others back. They'll have the ship itself ready by the time everyone comes back, and then they'll head for wherever the Force takes them.

Lothal. There are people there to help you. And for you to help.

Jica smiles at the quiet voice in the back of her mind, and nods. "If you say so, Master Billaba."

[tumblr.com profile] thisgreysilhouette - Eea, rock

Our Hands Will Never Be Clean AU

The house had already been on the island when they came to the planet, and still in fairly good shape, though some of the outbuildings were little more than piles of stone and rubble. It's enough to start from, and Eea smiles as she looks over the central valley of the island. A nice lake, mountains surrounding them, and the only way in or out their shuttle, or a treacherous road of packed gravel and cut rock overlooking the canyon where the lake tumbles into a river draining out to the ocean.

"You like it, don't you, Master?" Anakin is smiling over at her, his own delight echoing between them. "Can we bring mom here?"

"When the house is fully repaired and stocked, yes, if she wants to come." Eea wraps her arm around his shoulders, amused that his latest growth spurt had him of a height with her. He'll be taller, eventually, but not yet. Another few years, she thinks.

"Good." Anakin leans into her a moment before he pulls away, turning to go back to their shuttle. "I'll get the construction droids, and get them started."

"Have them make sure the roof is sound first, Apprentice! And that this place isn't going to fall down on us while we sleep." The rest can wait, and then. Then she will have a place to strike from, and to send Anakin out from, and pull Sidious, the Jedi, and the Republic to shreds.
