Mostly this is so it crossposts, and I don't have to go over there. I thought the fact that it never stops loading anymore, even when there's nothing that I am going to see that still needs loading, was bad enough - in fact, that actually is really worrying, because what the hell are they running in the background that never fully loads?. They've changed the format again, and it's not as useful or as intuitive, and I can't easily find my "I want the damned links to find all the bits in default on the left, not across the blasted top in drop-down menus" option (because I hate drop-down menus showing up when I don't need them), if it even exists anymore, and when I tried to switch back to the old version, it logged me out and then when I logged back in, I had the fucking useless broken new version again.

Yeah. There will be people I do not see anymore because I'm not going to go back there, and there's a community that I had not intended to abandon that I will not be helpful on (however, there is another mod, and I will make sure she has everything for the community).

Although, I haven't done much other than crosspost there in a couple years because DW has proven easier and doesn't change things without warning (this newest change is something that's not even been announced to LJ's news blog after the fact, damn their hides).

It still amazes me how STUBBORNLY fandom stayed on LJ even when LJ proved, over and over again for the last FIVE YEARS that they are intent on fucking everyone over.

:) I've been only reading over on LJ, and crossposting from DW, for going on three years or better now, and DW has been a consistently better experience.

LJ isn't just intent on fucking everyone over, but also appear to be intent on becoming something other than the journal hosting site they began as and their consumer base uses them for. Which is not what I signed up for, damnit.

Ah well. Most of the people I have been following have both LJ and DW, so I at least won't lose too much by not checking in on LJ.

I just logged in to LJ (for the second time in twelve hours, why do they keep chucking me out of my own journal?) and saw this. MTE! except that hadn't thought about what they're running in the background... that's worrying.

And why they're doing their best to alienate their users is completely beyond me too.

I dunno why they're logging people out randomly, but that's as annoying as the other stuff. *hugs you*

My personal theory on alienating users is the people who run it now assume that what they want is what everyone wants without consulting anyone, and thus prod the people who do coding to roll out what the corporate idiots want, and never mind what reality is, because doesn't reality bend to their desires? (Also, power corrupts, and money buys more power than it should, and whoever currently runs LJ is a pack of morons. No, I'm not having a bad day, why do you ask?)

Someday soon LJ will just implode, and the owners will be left standing around wondering what went wrong, never mind that thousands of people have been telling them for years. I'm not quite ready to make the leap to DW yet, but it won't take much more.

I seem to be getting the "new LJ" thing only when I go to the "LJ Home" thing. Which I never do these days anyway, because I don't freaking care what ONTD posted. I haven't had the automatic-logout problem either. Maybe I'm on a different server??

I understand all the issues between LJ and DW. The thing for me is, I still know more people over at LJ than DW, and that's not likely to change in the Facebook era. *sigh*

I was getting the new stuff anytime I go to a default comment page or to a profile. It may be you're on a different server, it may be that you're still using S1, rather than S2 (and there's no switching back to S1, or I would have done that on LJ, and kept going). I dunno.

My biggest worry at this point is the fact my little spinny thing that tells me the page is loading never stops whenever I'm on LJ. And that makes me wonder what they're running in the background that needs continuous communication with their servers. And why they feel the need to run something like that.
