Update on Chocolate
Dec. 4th, 2015 09:29 pmAs of this evening, the symptoms that scared the hell out of us yesterday have cleared up. I don't know if any of the signs have (the arrhythmia, the indistinct spot on the x-rays), but he's no longer having issues standing up, or staying up, or being less enthusiastic than usual, or drooling excessively. He's still a bit less energetic, but that can be chalked up to the good painkillers.
He's still going to sleep downstairs and stay downstairs over the weekend, because I don't want to push things and risk it all coming back and getting worse. So the apartment still feels empty, but it's not as horrible as it was last night when I wasn't sure if he was going to make it through the weekend, much less the week or the month.
I'm going to arrange a follow up visit with the vet for Tuesday (doing so today got lost in still being worried about the dog, and not having the spoons to deal with people over the phone because of that), and get bloodwork done to make sure there isn't something ongoing.
I have told him he is to live through March and getting a cat, so I can find a cat he can get along with and gets along with him. I have a little more hope that it's possible he will do so, now.
Thank you to everyone who sent support and good wishes. Y'all are awesome, and it helped, a lot.
