Grey-Hunting; Torchwood, Meta-Lounge; PG

Torchwood muses are being... protective. Anyway. Spoilers for the TW S2 finale.

"Sit." Ianto shoved Jack into the couch next to the Master before sitting on the other side. "You're safe. You're alive. You haven't been buried for two thousand years. I promise."

"And he won't be." Gwen didn't look up from her careful cleaning of the gun laid out in pieces on the table in front of her.

"Hey!" Jack tried to get off the couch, lunging towards Gwen, only to be pulled back by the Master and Ianto. "He's my brother!"

"He's a psychopathic bastard hell-bent on making you miserable." The Author dumped an arm-load of weapons on a nearby table, starting to hunt through them. "You're staying there, we're hunting Grey, and I promise, I won't kill him." She pulled out something that looked like it belonged on Ghost Busters. "I'm going to lock him in the box with Q."

Jack just stared, the Master absently clamping a hand over his mouth when he opened it to protest.

Grey is worse than the Master? If the Master is alive shouldn't he be with the Doctor? I like your ficlet but I'd have Ten there instead of the Master.

Actually, they're my muses, rather than the characters, as it were. The Master-muse is the varient from my Lieutenant to Chaos AU (Time, Chaos and the Universal Constant; Memos From Torchwood Two), Ianto-muse is the varient from my Daegon Rings AU (Fallen; Broken; Damage Control; various drabbles), and Gwen-muse is the varient from my Darker Guardians AU (no stories done yet).

And actually... the Master was insane and hurt Jack because he was there, and because he could. Grey hurt Jack because he thought Jack deserved it. Because he wanted to, and he wanted Jack to suffer. And Jack never trusted or loved the Master - but he trusted and loved Grey, beyond reason. To the point he let bought into Grey's belief that he deserved to suffer.

Master-muse isn't going to be with the Doctor-muse, because he drives the muse nuts. And Ten-muse is making faces at the whole thing, and refused to participate.

Only one in the ficlet who isn't a muse is the Author, who is me. Or as close as I come in these sort of ficlets.

This is Jack-muse being protected by Ianto-muse and Master-muse and Gwen-muse, actually. And me, as the Author. And I love my Q-box. Lovely, lovely thing to keep Q - and any other muse I chose - from driving me and the rest of the muses nuts.

Meanwhile off-screen are Ten-muse making faces, Nine-muse glaring, and Owen-muse snuggling Tosh-muse while she makes incoherent protests at the thought of no more canon to play with for her.

Jack is with the Master? I guess Time Agent!Jack could do it. Someone said that Jack has a tremendous need for approval from an authority figure so I guess I could see Jack/Master.

Post Game Station, Jack ends up at the end of the universe, runs into Professor Yana, points out the watch at some point, the Master comes back, he fixes Jack's wrist-comp, they end up in 1889, and go from there.

He tells Jack why the Doctor abandoned him, and nurtured the hint of bitterness from that over the century+ that they spend on Earth. By the time the Doctor gets back to Jack, it's too late, Jack's firmly the Master's loyal lieutenant (who tries his damndest to keep the Master from doing something like dropping a bomb on 10 Downing Street, etc.).

It's all in how it plays out. That AU is actually being a little more difficult to write than the others. Well, ok, Darker Guardians is being difficult because the first story I started in that is a threesome with Jack, Gwen, and Owen, and the blocking is being a pain. But the dymanics there are easier to deal with.

Not yet. I probably will, eventually. Given a closer watch of the season. And a reason to write them - which I don't have yet. Might do that with the Lieutenant to Chaos AU, though. Or try to pick up one or the other for a game, and see if I can't write them. Or... Hmm. That gives me an idea. Which I shall discuss after I finish and post the story that's now brewing.

What about an au where Andy is recruited to Torchwood? For all we know he maybe very tech savvy. I like the idea of Rhys being involved with Torchwood as a freelancer. Andy joins because the police had decided he was a perfect scapegoat.
