"Cream?" The Master looked over his shoulder at the young woman lounging at the kitchen table, raising an eyebrow.
"Not in my tea, thanks. Like it in my coffee, though, if you had any." She shrugged, leaning back in her chair to tip it up on the back legs. "Just a bit of honey and a couple wedges of lemon."
"Of course." He rolled his eyes as he turned back to the two cups of tea he was preparing. "You still haven't told me your name, my dear."
"Nope." A brilliant grin that was disturbingly like the Doctor's was visible as he turned back towards the table, though it vanished behind a more solemn expression before he could do more than catch a glimpse. "Not going to, either. Your future, my past, you know how that goes."
"Indeed." He held out her cup to her, settling into the chair across from her. Watching her as she took a moment to breathe in the fragrent steam before taking a sip of the tea, a small smile playing on her lips. "What brings you here?"
"Looking for you." She met his gaze over the edge of her cup. "You wouldn't happen to have anything to eat around here, would you? Haven't eaten since sometime around lunch yesterday. And that wasn't too good." She made a face before taking another sip of tea.
"There is a decent cafe just down the street if you would care to peruse their selections."
She wrinkled her nose and shook her head. "Nah. Don't want to go out and about right now."
He arched an eyebrow again. "Whyever not?"
"Nothing," she replied with a sunny smile that he didn't believe for a minute. "At least, no reason that would make sense to you right now." Her gaze flickered away for a moment, amusement twisting her lips in a smirk.
"You're very certain of that."
"Yeah. You're not exactly the right gender to have first hand experience with it." She took another sip of her tea before adding, "You sure you don't have anything to eat around here? I mean, just some chocolate, or something like that, y'know?"
Chocolate, at least, he did have. If only because he had learned very well that when dealing with females of most any species, chocolate could at least distract them long enough to escape. Idly, he wondered if the Doctor had figured that out yet.
"I do have some chocolates, but I'm afraid they've been around for quite some time. I'm not entirely certain they're at their best." The Master gave her an apologetic smile, sipping his tea.
"So long as they're not chocolate-dipped jelly babies, they'll be fine."
The Master stared at her a moment, mentally echoing her words, hoping he'd heard her wrong. "I am... rather disturbed by that thought."
"Yeah, well, tell that to the idiot Time Lord who found a candy store with a chocolate fountain and his favorite candy." She rolled her eyes, leaning forward a bit to finally let the front legs of her chair thump to the floor. "So, where are these chocolates?"
