Last night was excellent, a bit over a thousand words written to finish up chapter three of Admit Me. Today... has not been so great, as I am trying to work out what bits of history - alternate and real - are actually important enough to work into the final chapter of the story. Between Agincourt and Troyes, in particular, and possibly a small amount after Troyes. Then I'll have the epilogue (three deaths, two coronations), and a story that stands around 40k. If I can get the lot of them through the next chapter, and therefor through the next five years worth of events.
Events that happen? Several sieges, two of the most notable being Caen and Rouen. The death of John of Burgundy. The visit of Sigismund to England. A naval battle. The Treaty of Troyes.
Historically, the marriage of Henry V to Catherine of Valois. For the alternate history - replace Henry with his oldest son, who is more of an age with Catherine. Also, for the alternate history, add two more births (both sons), and the oldest boy proving he's capable of being a military leader. And the oldest daughter being headstrong and deciding she's going to go follow her father (maybe?). And Sigismund getting to be the godfather to one of those two boys who are born in those five years.
But how much of that I'm going to include? *shrugs* The sieges are probably mostly going to be glossed over. They get boring. Most of Sigismund's visit will be glossed over. The naval battle is mostly being ignored. The death of John of Burgundy, while important, is mostly going to be a short bit, because none of my POV characters is there. The births will be mentioned, but not in detail.
Which mostly leaves some negotiations in 1419, possibly Christmas of 1416 to start the chapter, and the negotiations surrounding the Treaty of Troyes. And the wedding. And possibly some of the oldest boy's military exploits, though it's more likely those will be glossed over somewhat as well.
