Writing Update

morgynleriIn the interests of trying to remember to post more regularly, I will attempt to post a writing update once a week. *crosses fingers* Let's see how well I remember. This is also an experiment to see if posting about the stories keeps me on track to finish them.
I have, as usual, probably far too many projects going at once, but I'd get bored if I didn't. Currently the connected AUs Flame of Durin and Gaearon Rhûnen are still my biggest focus, with a half-dozen stories between them in progress. Granted, not with an even spread, but that's ok.
Burning Bright: current chapter is at 17,330/17-18k words and at least one scene to be edited, and one more potential scene planned. Possibly putting this chapter at over 18k, which will make it the longest chapter.
Zâbad: current chapter is 4,046/8-9k, with a need for at least one more scene from the past (probably one of Dwalin's) and some more advancement of at least one of the plots. Of which I only have three in mind. (Dwalin/Tíli, politics, and the Flame.)
Out of the East: current chapter in edits is 2,094/8-9k, and with 395 more words than the unedited chapter at the same point. The plot of the Fourth Age storyline is having some heavy edits on details, as I've added a character, and another has changed when they're introduced and where they are geographically during the current point of the story.
Winter and Summer: current chapter is 5,291, and I'm not sure where I want to settle the range on these chapters. It's still not posted, though having mentioned Ragna (and Rori) in shorts connected with the AU, I probably should soon. Having an extra set or two of eyes to look over it won't be turned down.
Right now, I'm not going to do more than mention Warrior Prince of Harad (Frerin, Gaearon Rhûnen AU, Fourth Age) and Shadows of Gundabad (Cúnessa, Flame of Durin AU), because they're not ready to post at all, and I only mention them because some of what goes on in their vaguely-mapped plots (or just characters whose stories they are) are important to shorts already posted, or to the other long stories.
Kings and Princes: 983/7k+ of Immortals of Arda crossover/AU with reincarnation and fun with Immortal Quickenings being different when the person who has it was born before Arda became Terra. Caravan: 2,488/7k+ of Flame of Durin story. I've done bits about Fíli's wife for this AU (Skadi), but I'd not yet explored Kíli's wife for this AU (Gefion). So, now I am. :) The other story I'm doing forhobbitstory.
Missing: current chapter is 446/2-3k, and the muses have finally decided on a plot (or, well, the beginnings of a plot, as they haven't told me how it works out, who the bad guys are, or why what's happened off screen has happened). Although I'm pretty sure that at least the threat Bialar just was given will not have a chance to be carried out. Because Teeg is not helpless, and will kick butt.
There's also Fireside Tales and The Travel Collection, but right now, I'm not as worried about muses being absent as I am about muses being recalcitrant on particular stories. So, I'm not poking at those for now.
This week's goals? Get more words on Kings and Princes and on Caravan, get the scene edited on Burning Bright, and get another 1k on the chapter for Zâbad. Not terribly ambitious a goal for the week, though there are other things that need done as well that have nothing to do with writing.
