Things I have noticed recently (... ok, just now, honestly).
I tend to be willing to interact more with posts on DW than I ever do on tumblr even when I'm on there any more.
Yeah, it's probably in large part that here, you're not expected to be perfect, you're not guilt-tripped because you don't reblog this or that or the other performative social justice thing to show off how good and right you are. People know how to not follow people. I can secure posts that I don't want to show off to the entire world. Perhaps most importantly, there's a lot fewer people who I potentially interact with.
