Fanfiction WIPs
Wither Not the Leaf - Highlander, PG13, Methos-centric, sequel to Shadow of the Valley
I'd intended to get this finished and posted back in, say, February or March. It's May, and I've still only the one scene. Because I can't make up my mind exactly what I want the little bastards to do in the summer. The options being hibernate, migrate, or a change in diet (to plants and fish, I think, from birds and mammals). If I can figure out exactly what I'm doing with the creatures, I should be able to get the story finished. *crosses fingers*
Scarred Souls - Stargate, PG13, Major Davis-centric AU, serial
I'm having trouble with the part of the story back on Earth, because while I know pretty much exactly where I want to go with Major Davis, I'm not as certain how I want things to go back on Earth. Because they can't keep up a massive search for him over hundreds of planets over months and years. For all that Jack has the "don't leave anyone behind" thing going, it's simply not possible from a financial stand-point.
And it's not that they're not searching - they look and ask about him on every planet they go to on a mission. They just can't make it their first priority. However, I've got to skip large chunks of time from both story-lines, because the biggest plot developments occur mostly around their first rescue attempt, and two years later.
Mmm. I'll have to see if this talking it out helped, because I think it might have.
Grace - Harry Potter, PG13, AU, 1969-1970, OC-centric
I have to do another scene with the title character and Fenrir, and I know exactly why I don't like working on those scenes. It's nothing I'll put into the story explicitly, but I know it's there, and it makes me twitch a lot and... *shudders* I have to keep reminding myself that it's an important plot point. And even in later stories when Grace is older, it's not going to squick me any less.
But beyond that, I think I need to poke at my plot outline/timeline, and figure out some more details on how the year goes. Year or two, since the second story in the set isn't until Niobe's third year. (Niobe being the twin sister to the title character of this story, and yes, that's a plot point too.)
Warrior Child - Farscape, PG13, AU, Teeg-centric first-person, sequel to Teeg's Choice
The second chapter of this is mostly held up by me debating if I want to keep Crais on Talyn when Crichton shows up trying to boot him (and in this AU, Teeg and a couple other Peacekeepers as well) off Talyn. I'm leaning toward keeping him on board instead of letting Crichton remove him, but I'm still not certain.
Fantasies - Torchwood/RPF, R, indulgence fic
Ok, the hold up on this is simply me not being in the mood to be self-indulgent and desiring to be elsewhere. I know where it's going, the plot's rather a nicely worn track in my mind, and I can finish it when I'm in the mood to write it. Promise.
A Rose By Any Other Name - Doctor Who/Torchwood, R, Fairytales & Nightmares AU, Rose/Jack/John
Mmm. A bit stuck with Jack's second visit to Rose at UNIT in his attempt to get John and John's wrist-strap out of the clutches of 21st century humans. Because right now, Rose is amused at his flirting, but doesn't buy it for a minute. And isn't going to help him for blackmail or money, and I'm not sure he's actually going to be willing to give her what she wants.
However, I might have him go away empty-handed again, and her bring the same offer to John, and have him actually take her up on it. Hmm. I'll figure it out sooner or later.
Darker Guardians: On the Slow Path - Torchwood/Doctor Who, PG13, AU
It was the second of the TARDIS Big Bang stories I started, and it's further along than the other one, but it still didn't make the minimum word count by the deadline for first drafts. It was also not nearly finished, so all in all, better to not stress, and finish it later than stress myself sick to get it finished sooner.
Right now it's stuck in the second part, which is UNIT-centric and involves the Slitheen and Tosh and Ianto and Ross and pissing off Torchwood. I might, though, just take the first part and edit it as a story on it's own, and then break off the second part for a second story, and the third part for a third story. Maybe. Not certain yet. Shall eventually make up my mind.
The Gauntlet - Buffy/Angel, R, AU, series
Wish!verse - Buffy, R, AU, series
Both of these are currently in limbo because I am co-authoring them, and I need feedback from my co-author before I go through and get any of them ready for posting. Well, ok, with the Wish!verse ones I'll wait for feedback. Gauntlet I might work at getting the first one ready anyway. Though I shall have to locate and watch the episodes of Buffy with Ethan before I do that, to refresh my memory of his character (which is, currently, non-existent, to my sorrow).
...
There is rather a list of others, but right now, I'm not going to post them, because I'm not even contemplating working on them at the moment, not seriously, if not all for the same reasons. There's also a number of original projects and non-writing projects, but again, not listing them. Not right now. Anyway. Have to go find something to eat, I'm getting hungry and I haven't eaten breakfast yet.
