*pokes at the new bit of story with a stick* I'm going to go with it for now, but I'm getting fussy about it again. Something's not quite settling in this new scene, and I'm not sure it will until I get more of it written, and send the latest batch of words off to [livejournal.com profile] hyarrowen for beta'ing. Dunno. Do know that I want to keep the plot point moved up to where it is, and want to keep the female lead where she is. Might help, though, to take out a good chunk of the early part of the scene. Though it's something I need to be aware of happening, it might not be something that needs to be in the story itself.

Ah well, it will go as it goes, and eventually I'll get this worked out properly, and get it through the next couple of plot points. Once I get it through there, there's going to be more poking at research for history bits to add to it, and go through Henry's coronation, the siege of Harfluer, the Battle of Agincourt, some other not-so-random stuff in between that and the signing of the Treaty of Troyes, getting Catherine of Valois married, Henry's campaign in 1421/1422, the deaths of Henry V and of Charles VI, and the death of my female lead about six months after Henry.

The story at the moment stands at something a bit over 10k. The rest of that? Is probably another 20k. Maybe longer, but I won't know until I work my way through it. It's also somewhere between one and four more sex scenes, four more children and a grandchild, three coronations, five deaths, two marriages, at least two battles, and the Southampton Plot. How much detail goes into some of that? Will be determined by how much I care to rehash for readers familiar with history and Shakespeare's Henry V. Which is probably not more than needed to highlight characters involved who are not drawn from history or Shakespeare.

Now, to see if I can get Henry and the female lead to cooperate and make this next scene work.
