There's a Mirror On the Wall

Got photos of the cotton thread today. This involved also coming back upstairs to find my (small) cone of one of the colors that is out, and bringing it and the ball wound off it back upstairs after.

Bucket of trash went into the bin. I have card stock enough to get through months of weekly to-do charts now, and I have gotten the litterboxes sifted.

Dad is out for a necessities run because I am out of pads for my period....

And he texted as I was typing, he was able to get the last pack of one of my preferred kind. So no having to rely on the reuseable ones which on heavy days also mean putting a towel down and not wearing pants. Yay!

Our state has a governor who actually gives a fuck and is now not just suggesting that people stay home, but instructing them to shelter at home unless for groceries or they are essential workers. It goes into effect at 8pm tonight. Which. Here's hoping people actually listen.

I, myself, am not leaving this property until this is over. Might step out of my apartment because even through a mask to avoid pollen, fresh air and sunlight. And going down to the house because there's still inventory to do, and until that's done, on sunny days I need to get at least an hour or two in of attempting to get some of that done.

Beyond that, though. I have my cats for not becoming utterly touch-starved, I have the internet for distractions, I have Sims3 and jigsaw puzzles, I have my organizational projects and my learn how to do things projects and Duolingo and writing (of which I have been getting words the last couple days) and crochet and braiding and sewing and so much cleaning. And am still likely to get a little lot stir-crazy because while I have all of that usually, I also usually have some chance to go places at least once a week.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Not right now, I like living, thank you and anyone who isn't being as cautious and responsible as is possible for them to be within the constraints of surviving can please take a dose of flaming hot lava rocks.

(My cats are starting to pick up on my stir-crazy, I think, because they are acting out more than usual. Still love them dearly.)

Today in Morgyn Is An Adult, No Really (And Also Cat Is Awesome):

Growth lights are fucking fantastic for me as well as the plants. Hello artificial sunlight, I am a solar-driven critter, gimmie.

Adjacent to that - if I spend too long in my bathroom where said light is, the light in the rest of the apartment looks green for a little bit.

The lamp I had in the bathroom is now back in my living room, and I am so glad I have a "daylight" fixture that doesn't fucking flicker on me (there's something wrong with the current overhead light fixture or the electric running to it, because those bulbs SHOULD NOT FLICKER).

Jess was under a chair with her murder monkey, and I picked up the jar of catnip to get her a leaf (homegrown catnip), and she shoves her murder monkey out like "I know what you're getting, gimmie on the monkey!" So I did, and shoved it back under. I have a happy catten who has gotten a catnip hit.

(Meanwhile, I suspect I need to plant new catnip this year, since the plant does not appear to be coming up around the masses of wild strawberry that have colonized the garden. Neither is the oregano. Orange mint, peppermint, lemonbalm, english thyme, lavender, and green sage all are coming in all right, and the not-wild strawberry plants are gleefully going "not dead, bwuahahahahaha!")

More dirt, and more buckets were gotten on the way home from mom's birthday dinner, and I have yellow squash, mystery squash, garlic, and shallots to plant. Next weekend will be a tour of our local nurseries that are worth the effort, and acquiring (hopefully) some raspberry canes, cherry tomato plant, whatever herbs we decide to get, and possible some other fruiting things and flowers. And more buckets. And another growth light. Some hooks for the bathroom ceiling. The container garden is going to be awesome. And in a month, it all goes OUTSIDE, and I can have my bathroom back.

(Plans for bathroom renovation now include switched outlet in ceiling for installation of growth lights for continuing container gardening and early growth of things to go in garden beds. Whenever the fuck I get to it, anyway.)

Also acquired a new fan to replace the not-entirely-functioning one in the living room. Will install later, when both me and dad have spoons for it, 'cause neither of us did today.

She’s not ready to be an indoor cat (she insisted she wanted back out a little while after taking this), but she’s quite happy with under the bed when she is inside. It’s progress.

She was waiting outside my door, and came in as soon as I opened it and was very insistent that it was food time now, please and thank you. Then she followed me outside, because I had to go down and feed Chocolate, and played about in the leaves while she waited for me to come back. And then there was inside, some outside, and back inside for a while, and now outside again, but without me, because it is cold outside and I am still feeling icky.

(And apparently she went down to the house last night, and she went inside down there, and Chocolate was well behaved. No upset between them, at any rate, even if she probably thought he was being rude when he sniffed her butt.)
